Mass Circumcision

15 August 2008. In mid-August, Rotary Club of Yogyakarta Tamansari in co-operation with LPM Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta undertook mass circumcision for pupils attending the campus of UAJY.

Club Provides Assistance to Wanujoyo Lor Village

February 13, 2008. In a joint project between the Rotary Club of Yogyakarta Tamansari and the Rotary Club of Groningen in the Netherlands, funded by a Rotary Foundation Matching Grant, the Rotarians helped villagers in Wanujoyo Lor to repair a drainage channel, sewer and install latrines.

Previously the Gronigen club also helped to build twenty simple houses in Yogyakarta after a major earthquake hit the city in 2006.



Guests from Oregon USA

January 18, 2008. Throughout the years, Tamansari and Oregon Rotarians have continued to celebrate their close friendship. This visit from Rotarian fellows from Oregon was the sign of continuing friendship between the two clubs.



Reforestation Project

January 13, 2008. Tamansari Rotarians plant trees during a reforestation project for a week in plant trees in Sedayu. Meet the the dedicated network of Rotarians who inspire and working on this project. 1500 trees were planted in Sedayu, 2000 trees planted in Jatiningsih, and 1150 trees in Medari, Sleman. Alvin & Michael Go to USA

alvinmichaelEnd of August 2007. Finally after having spent quite some time in obtaining a visa to the USA, Alvin (son of PP Dani) and Michael (son of PP Trisno) are leaving to USA to follow a year long Youth Exchange program sponsored by Rotary Club of Tamansari.

Alvin is going to stay in York, Maine and Michael is going to stay in Sayville, New York. These young men are going to be ambassadors of culture, goodwill, peace and understanding for their homeland.
